A Fighter for San Antonio.
A leader who gets things done.
Melissa Cabello Havrda is a proven leader with a track record of fighting for working families, investing in safer neighborhoods, and ensuring that every San Antonian has a voice at City Hall.
Melissa Cabello Havrda has the experience to do more than make promises—
for the past 6 years as your City Councilmember, she has delivered for public safety, small businesses, infrastructure, mental health, and our veterans.
Born and raised on the West Side, Melissa knows what it means to fight for opportunities. She’s secured historic investments in foster youth and public transportation, and worked to prioritize small and local businesses, all while demanding transparency and accountability from City Hall.
There’s no time for on-the-job training.
We need strong leadership in the mayor’s office on day one.
Melissa is ready to move San Antonio forward, with plans built on a track record of results. As mayor, she will be a leader for every neighborhood, every family, and every business.
A Value System for San Antonio
Melissa’s vision for San Antonio is based on a belief system consisting of three main pillars:
City Hall Should
Work for You
You deserve a seat at the table.
- Melissa will launch citywide Participatory Budgeting—giving YOU the power to decide how city funds are spent
- We will strengthen labor standards across city projects to ensure good jobs and fair wages
- Melissa will fight for elected seats on utility boards, so the people—not just insiders—have a say in our utilities
- We will continue to increase transparency & accountability in city spending
We Need to Create
Opportunities at Home
Growth and access for all San Antonio residents.
- Begin workforce training programs in high school, helping young people access high-paying jobs faster
- We can break cycles of generational poverty through dual-generation programs and expanding Pre-K 4 SA to include family-focused education
- Melissa will ensure veterans have access to programs supporting mental health and workforce re-entry
- We will expand public transportation and push for passenger rail
- Melissa will prioritize support the arts, culture, and climate initiatives
You Should Feel Safe in
Your Community
A holistic approach to public safety.
- Melissa will strengthen school safety measures, funding crossing guards, improved lighting & infrastructure, and increase city communication
- We will expand mental health crisis response, ensuring trained professionals are deployed in times of need
- Melissa will invest in neighborhood-based public safety initiatives
- Melissa will continue to ensure reproductive justice and save lives by protecting access to care
- We'll strengthen protections for seniors against elder abuse and increase inter-agency collaboration
